Why Green Circle Collective?

Green

Green represents life and growth. It denotes fresh starts, changing seasons, and new beginnings. Green Circle Collective is dedicated to helping you create the growth in your life that you need.

Circle

Circle. It represents wholeness, continuity, and connectedness. When people sit in a circle no one person has a better seat than any other person, and everyone is included. The lack of sharp edges shows strength in softness, along with balance.

Collective

Green Circle Collective’s years of practice, education, and exploration have culminated in an eclectic style of therapy focused on your trauma recovery. We provide ways to thrive and flourish after trauma, as well as build resilience against pain life brings.

Our Philosophy

At Green Circle Collective we focus on providing trauma-focused therapy in two ways - EMDR and Groups. We work with people that have been through some shit, need some relief, and want to break out of old patterns that don’t let them live with peace-of-mind. We provide a safe, collaborative therapy experience where you can explore who you really are and want to be so you can create the life you dream of after life’s unexpected and painful experiences.

Whether you decide on EMDR or group therapy, we have some core beliefs about therapy that we work hard to maintain for all of our clients.

Person-Centered

We don’t see you as a diagnosis that needs fixing. You’re a unique person with a complex network of thoughts, feelings, relationships, fears, worries, hopes and dreams. You deserve to have your preferences, experience, and intuition centered in your mental and emotional wellness.

Trauma-Informed

All of our team members work with folks through a trauma-informed lens. This means we ask the questions, “what’s gotten you this far, and where do you want to go from here”, instead of, what’s wrong with you and how can we fix it?”. This perspective allows for you and your therapist to work as a team to achieve your goals, no matter what reasons brought you to this healing journey.

Therapy is for everyone

A common misconception is that therapy is only useful or necessary when something is “wrong with you” or you have a mental health diagnosis. This misconception sometimes keeps people out of therapy that could really benefit from having the professional support and guidance. We believe that therapy is part of overall health and wellness and having an established therapeutic relationship is helpful to maintain mental and emotional wellness. No matter how successful you are or how much you achieve, there will always be new challenges to overcome and life will have natural ups and downs. You can rely on your Green Circle Collective therapist to help you no matter where you are in your mental and emotional health.

Have more tools for your mental health “toolbox”

You’ve been doing something right to have made it this far, but the same tools and skills that got you here may not be able to take you much farther. No matter the reasons for coming to therapy, you and your therapist will work identifying and understanding your patterns of behavior, exploring what’s working for you and what might be harming you, learning about why you do what you do and how “bad” habits or coping techniques were helpful at some point, and moving forward towards your unique goals with your individualized treatment plan.

Social justice is a priority

We work with clients to build a solid, trusting relationship so that we can explore the things that trouble you, and find ways to move through or around them. We strive to be anti-racist, body-positive, sex-positive, and feminist in our counseling perspective and do not shy away from exploring how systemic injustices impact the mental wellbeing of people that are affected by “isms”. Our clinical work is informed by the work we do in conflict transformation, and we are able to apply the principles of conflict resolution to help individuals have restoration and reconciliation in their lives. *(racism, sexism, classism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, sizeism, etc)
